This backyard had a serious problem. A long garden bed running the entire length of the fence had completely taken over - weeds, dead plant material, overgrown clumps of ornamental grass, the whole mess. It wasn't just an eyesore. It was the kind of space that makes mowing a headache and edging nearly impossible.

Here's what we were working with: years of buildup packed into a bed that stretched along two fence lines. We cleared everything out - pulled the dead growth, removed the old edging, and prepped the ground properly before laying fresh sod. No shortcuts on the prep work. That's what determines whether the sod takes hold or struggles.

Once the sod was down and the lawn was looking clean, we installed pavers along the fence line. That detail matters more than people realize. Instead of fighting with a mower or string trimmer right up against the fence posts every single week, the pavers create a solid border that eliminates that awkward strip of grass. Mowing and edging become straightforward.

That kind of practical thinking is what separates a good landscape job from a great one. We're not just making things look nice for the photos - we're setting up the yard so it's actually easier to maintain long-term. Homeowners in Tooele deal with enough. Weekly yard work shouldn't be a wrestling match.

The finished result is a clean, usable backyard with a full lawn where that overgrown bed used to be. No more dead zones, no more weeding a bed that wasn't serving anyone. Just a yard that's easy to keep up and actually looks good doing it.
